The Minimalist Ayurvedic Skincare Routine: 3 Products, Complete Care

With so many products on the market, it's easy to feel like Ayurvedic skincare requires an elaborate shelf of jars and bottles. In classical practice, it rarely did. Most traditional routines centred on just a few well-chosen steps, done consistently. Here's a minimalist version built around three Navtej products.
Step 1: Cleanse and Prepare — Varnya Ubtan
Ubtan has been used in Ayurveda for centuries as a gentle alternative to soap-based cleansing. Navtej Varnya Ubtan, based on Acharya Charaka's Varnya Mahakashaya concept, cleanses while supporting an even-looking, radiant complexion — without the harsh stripping some cleansers cause.
Step 2: Nourish — Kumkumadi Tailam
Navtej Kumkumadi Tailam, prepared with 16 traditional herbs including saffron, is applied at night as a deeply nourishing facial oil. This single step covers what many multi-product night routines try to achieve with several separate serums.
Step 3: Massage — Kansa Wand
A few minutes of Kansa Wand massage, using the oil already on your skin from Step 2, is traditionally believed to support circulation and a relaxed, toned appearance — no separate product needed.
Why Fewer Products Can Work Better
Consistency matters more than quantity in Ayurvedic skincare. A simple three-step routine you actually follow every day tends to serve skin better than an elaborate routine you abandon after two weeks. This approach also reduces the risk of product interactions or over-exfoliation that can come from layering too many actives at once.
A Note on Expectations
As with any skincare routine, consistent use over weeks — not days — is what classical Ayurveda describes. We don't promise fixed timelines or guaranteed transformation; if you have a diagnosed skin condition, please continue following your dermatologist's advice alongside any new routine.
